Course Description.

The current version of BSB60615 Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety (WHS) course was released in March 2015 and replaces the older BSB60612 (2012) version of the course.

This qualification builds on existing skills and knowledge gained from studying the Diploma of Work Health and Safety or gained by exposure to Health and Safety responsibilities in your job.

This course covers all areas of WHS Management such as the application of health and safety legislative frameworks, implementation of a systematic approach to risk management, evaluate of workplace health and safety performance, conducting health and safety audits as well as the creation and maintenance of WHS Information Systems (WHSIS) and much more.

Both BSB60612 and BSB60615 replace the older BSB60607 Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety (Advanced Diploma OHS).  You can click on this link to read more about the difference between WHS and OHS.

Entry Requirements.

You must be at least 18 years of age, able to use Microsoft Word proficiently and be able to read, write and speak English well. You will require a laptop or PC with Microsoft Word and Adobe Reader installed to complete the assessments.

There are three pathways into the Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety.

  1. You have already completed BSB51315 (or BSB51312) Diploma of Work Health and Safety (WHS).
  2. You have already completed the 5 core units of BSB51315 (or BSB51312) Diploma of Work Health and Safety (WHS).
  3. If neither of the above apply, you will need to complete our Advanced Diploma WHS Entry Requirements Assessment Workbook.

Cert IV WHS – Course Description.

The current version of BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) course was released in March 2015 and replaces the older BSB41412 (2012) version of the course.  

This qualification provides a great introduction to the world of Work Health and Safety (WHS) and is perfect for people who want to become a safety advisor, safety officer, security officer, supervisor or for job seekers looking to add that extra something to their resume.  

It is a very comprehensive course, covering a wide range of topics. These include: legal compliance, hazards identification, risk assessment, planning, implementing and maintaining controls measures, health and safety consultation and participation, work health and safety management systems (WHSMS), management of contractors, incident response and investigation, workers compensation, rehabilitation and return to work, emergency preparation and more.
