About Advantage Training
Advantage Training Australia started in Perth as a registered training organisation that delivered nationally recognised courses in work health and safety, leadership and management, and training and assessment. Students could study online or apply for recognition of prior learning. Course materials arrived as Word and PDF files. Trainers answered the phone seven days a week.
That enrolment business is closed. This site is not an RTO and it does not issue qualifications. What remains is the editorial job the old desk was already doing between enrolments: explaining Australian workplace training in language a supervisor can use without a decoder ring.
What we publish
Long-form guides, organised into the same topic hubs the original site used as course families:
- Work health and safety — duties, risk, consultation and incidents under the model WHS laws and state variants.
- Leadership and management — the unglamorous work of running a team, a roster and a plan.
- Training and assessment — competency, TAE practice and vocational delivery.
- Recognition of prior learning — evidence, credit transfer and when RPL is the wrong door.
- Vocational education — AQF levels, RTOs, ASQA and how to choose a course that still means something.
How we write
Australian English. Specific examples. Named legislation where it matters. We do not pretend a 1,200-word guide replaces legal advice or an assessor. We do try to leave you better briefed than a sales page would. Our editorial standards set out sourcing, corrections and conflicts.
Who is at the desk
Guides are written by named contributors with workplace training, WHS or leadership backgrounds. Guest writers are welcome if they can meet the write-for-us guidelines. Commercial mentions, when we accept them, are labelled and carry rel="sponsored".
Questions, corrections and pitches go to the contact page. Images used on the site are Creative Commons or public domain and are listed on the image credits page.
